With only two days of preparation, performing at full level straight away was an enormous challenge. The body needs time to adjust — there's simply no shortcut.
"I noticed my breathing felt different than normal. My body really had to get used to the heat. It's already improving and my breathing is getting back to its normal level."
A Tough Match Against Congo
The match against Congo proved to be a difficult test. Congo were physically strong and showed they are further along in their development.
For Indonesia, it was hard to get a grip on the game. Pressing the ball in particular was difficult under these conditions.
"I couldn't press the ball the way I normally can. That's frustrating, but also something I'm learning from."
